zhaiyao: the stellar orbit composition of a galaxy has encoded crucial information about its formation and evolution history. with the latest development of ifu spectroscopic surveys, more and more orbit-based modelling methods have been used to derive dynamic properties of galaxies. the latest observation and modelling towards 260 califa galaxies (zhu et al., 2018 nature astronomy) unveiled a dynamic hubble sequence of nearby galaxies, providing important clues to our understanding of galaxy evolution. in this talk, i will, through a usage of an advanced cosmological galaxy-formation simulation, show what we can learn from stellar orbit composition of a galaxy and present some of the interesting results from our current studies.
